Hot Sunday!

Man, have we been experiencing a major heat wave in the southland! Having went to school in the valley, the last few weeks in LA have been feeling like my summer school days at CSUN. Nasty suffocating heat.

For us dog owners, it's the worst when you have a big dog with a lot of fur and a Korean groomer who refuses to see your dog on the weekends. Ajuma, I work during the week so how am I suppose to bring my dog in when you open at 10 a.m.?

Why your husband no come?

Ajuma, he's been in Korea for a month now and I have no clue when he's returning. In the meantime, she's shedding all over the house!

Ohhhh, I see. You're dog too big...take too much time. Bring her weekday only.

Impossible!

This past sunday, the heat was even worse for us since we live close by the La Canada fires. Thank God we still have a working central A/C....my dogs were especially grateful their normally energy-pinching mama let the A/C crank all day. I even left it on all through the night much to their tailwagging delight!

At last....sleeping comfortably

Travel: Summer Stay-cation

I meant for this blog to have some travel content in it, but I've been struggling with just keeping up with it entirely! Tsk, tsk...such a shame how much I'm online on a daily basis and still have neglected my own home page!

More to come, I promise. In the meantime, this summer has been somewhat uneventful for me. No new promotion, don't have any travel plans, and the hubby is away on business. I've been sitting at home - cruising the net and hitting up all the shopping sites. With no where to really go, I should refrain my buying to a minimum. It's hard to stop when there are soo many great deals online!

Cynthia Vincent Brit Gladiator Sandals

Here's one of the many items I've splurged on Gilt.com this month,
Except this wasn't much of a splurge at $88, retail is $230!
Not bad, eh?

Now, your feet has to be in tip-top shape in order to wear this season's sandals. Gladiator styles have come back again this year.

I'm dreading the thought of exposing my feet because I feel a little embarrassed about the current condition they're in. I've neglected them all throughout this long winter we've just had. It's been so long that I don't even know how to get them back into shape again.

I suppose I could start off with a pedicure, a kick-ass foot massage and then a wax peel to soften the calluses and heel. I could keep them moisturized every night with something greasy like Aquaphor. But who has time to pamper their feet, really? I'm barely putting on my face cream at night (La Prairie Nuit Anti-aging Cream)

After just getting these bad boys by Cynthia Vincent delivered today, I'm realizing the urgency of taking care of my feet. Starting with that pedicure!

Love the zip front and the back side of the sandals. It completely covers and hides my cracked heel! Most of all, I love these CV Brit Sandals because they are super comfy.

The only other thing is they make me feel like I'm wearing really ancient tribal sandals. Hard to explain...something about the leather and sole...I feel like I should be walking on water, or on the steps of the Acropolis wrapped in my bedsheet discussing philosophy.

Ok, enough Jesus juice for tonight.

If you've got gigantor feet (like size 8 and above) it's on sale for $161 (shopbop.com)

Bahamas NYE 2009

This was my second trip to the Bahamas. The first time I went was in August about four years ago. The weather was hot then and the water felt amazing. On this recent trip, it was sunny when we first arrived after Christmas, about low to mid 70s. It wasn't as warm, but still nice. However, towards the new year, the weather began to shift and it actually rained to our dismay. After that, I wore a sweater for the remainder of our trip.

The day we arrived. Atlantis Royal Tower Resort on Paradise Island.

2009...New Year, New Attitude...New Style

Happy New Year!

I'm back from my week long vacation in the Bahamas. The weather was a little on the chilly side, but the scenery more than made up for it. We went with a bunch of our friends. It's been a tradtion we've had for 4 years now to travel and ring in the new year together.

We all went on our trip knowing that this may very well be our last vacation together since many of us will start to try to conceive. That revelation gave us more reason to party like it was 1999.

What came to my mind this NYE was how lonely I felt in a room full of people. There was never a moment I was alone, yet I felt so distant from my own husband and friends.

Maybe this was a case of delayed holiday blues. In any case, I forced myself to snap out of it and brushed it off as PMS.

I'm tired of living in fear. New year, new me. A better me, I hope.
